Digiscoping made easy: SWAROVSKI OPTIK opens up the world of digiscoping at the "Pannonian Bird Experience 2010"
Using the technique of digiscoping successfully and to its full potential places is very demanding in terms of the equipment used. The extensive SWAROVSKI OPTIK range therefore comprises only products of the highest quality and optical accuracy. At the first "Pannonian Bird Experience" event, held at Neusiedlersee, the company will offer all visitors the chance to learn more about these products and digiscoping, which they will also have the opportunity to try out on-site.
The transition from observing to capturing an image and safely attaching the camera are some of the most common challenges users face when digiscoping. To make the process of digiscoping simple and to ensure that there is no camera movement, it is particularly important that equipment is compact and stable. For this purpose, SWAROVSKI OPTIK has developed special products designed for use with various types of camera and SWAROVSKI OPTIK telescopes and binoculars. By creating a flexible tool, these practical adapters allow users to capture unique moments quickly and easily using a camera plus a telescope or pair of binoculars.
Digiscoping with SWAROVSKI OPTIK
Swarovski Optik focuses on maximum optical precision without compromise, innovative technology and the use of state-of-the-art materials for all its products. The ATM/STM 80/65 (HD) magnesium telescopes are characterised by their lightweight design. The use of magnesium technology results in a much lighter weight and increased stability. Its sturdy, compact and lightweight design (a SWAROVSKI OPTIK ATM 80 HD weighs just 1,595 g including the new 25-50x wide-angle zoom eyepiece) makes it significantly lighter than other similar products available on the market.
Because of the different demands and requirements made of a digiscoping adapter, SWAROVSKI OPTIK offers a range of individual adapter systems. In addition to the UCA, a lightweight, compact device that allows both compact and SLR cameras to be used in a flexible manner, the DCB adapter is particularly suitable for use with compact digital cameras. Easy to use, it allows users to switch between observing and taking photographs in a matter of seconds. The DCA adapter connects telescopes and digital cameras to lens filter threads. The TLS 800 provides a secure connection between SWAROVSKI OPTIK telescopes and SLR cameras. In addition to its long focal length, nature and amateur photographers will appreciate the fact that this system can even be used hands-free.
“For customers to find the right equipment, it is very important that they are able to test it themselves before they make a purchase. We can provide them with the perfect opportunity to do just this at the Bird Experience with presentations and a wide range of trial equipment for use on excursions with experts,” comments Andreas Pittl, referring to the first “Pannonian Bird Experience” which is to be held at the end of April 2010 in Illmitz.
SWAROVSKI OPTIK at the "Pannonian Bird Experience 2010"
Since nature conservation and species protection form an integral part of SWAROVSKI OPTIK’s corporate culture, the company is particularly committed to supporting projects which make a significant contribution to protecting the natural world and its biodiversity, including projects in the early stages of development. From 23 to 25 April 2010, the Neusiedlersee-Seewinkel National Park and its regional and international partners will welcome visitors to the first Pannonian Bird Experience 2010 in Illmitz. SWAROVSKI OPTIK considers it a priority to lend its full support to this project.
The aim of this event, which is modelled on the successful and well-established Birdfair at Rutland Water in the UK, is to bring together the central European region and to highlight and reinforce the significance of the inter-regional area surrounding the Neusiedlersee as a central European hub. The event is also intended to raise awareness of environmental protection and contribute to international sustainable development (in Austria, Slovakia and Hungary).
In addition, SWAROVSKI OPTIK will host free talks and workshops given by digiscoping and birding experts from Austria, the Netherlands and the USA every day during the event. Furthermore, the entire range of digiscoping equipment made by SWAROVSKI OPTIK will be available on-site at the trade fair stand or on one of two daily excursions for customers to compare and test free of charge. Of course, there will also be ample opportunity to try out the latest development from SWAROVSKI OPTIK, the new EL 42 SWAROVISON, whose perfect optical performance will delight birders and wildlife watchers in particular.
