SWAROVSKI OPTIK introduces its new-generation ballistic programme
Owners of SWAROVSKI OPTIK rifle scopes can now use the innovative ballistics programme to assist accurate impact at long range. Free of charge, user-friendly, straightforward and with an added expert function, the programme opens up new possibilities in the accurate calculation of long-distance shots. It is the established long-range optics manufacturer's response to the increasing demand from hunters for accurate aiming points, especially over longer distances.
The ballistic programme is software designed to assist hunters and is available free of charge at http://ballisticprograms.swarovskioptik.com for users of SWAROVSKI OPTIK rifle scopes. The ballistic programmes provide the data for all long-range reticles and the SWAROVSKI OPTIK ballistic turret to calculate the individual adjustment values required for the desired long-range shot distances.
In addition to the completely new, user-friendly, straightforward display, it is the expanded entry fields in particular that make the new programme so effective. For example, calculations are based on data for 1,700 different types of ammunition (e.g. manufacturer, type of bullet, bullet speed). The programme also allows users to enter a wider range of atmospheric conditions and calculate angled shots, which are frequently required in practical hunting situations. A view of the trajectory in table format is a new feature. This table shows the trajectory in the form of figures using the above-mentioned parameters.
The expert mode is another new feature. It provides even more parameters for high-precision calculations of personal ballistic coefficients. Atmospheric values (air pressure, humidity, temperature and wind conditions) can also be entered. All values relevant to the shot can then be printed out as an overview for practical use or recalculated.
The ballistic programme is now also available as an iPhone application. Through practical use, it provides individual, up-to-date calculations for any location.
