SWAROVSKI OPTIK announces the winners of the international "Digiscoper of the Year 2009" competition: Mr Juan Antonio Garcia Perez from Spain has been awarded first place in the competition by an international panel of judges.
The natural world contains a wealth of unique and fascinating animals and beautiful landscapes waiting to be discovered. However, the challenge lies in capturing these images. For this purpose, SWAROVSKI OPTIK has developed special photographic equipment designed for use with various types of camera and SWAROVSKI OPTIK telescopes and binoculars. By creating a flexible tool, these practical adapters allow users to capture unique moments quickly and easily using a camera plus a telescope or pair of binoculars.
Digiscoper of the Year 2009
This year’s competition has revealed new levels of interest in digiscoping. Both the number of entries and the quality of the images submitted were higher in comparison to previous years. Digiscoping allows nature-lovers to take high quality close-up shots of various animals and birds, capturing lasting images of those unique moments.
The winner of this year’s international photography competition, held annually by SWAROVSKI OPTIK, was Mr Juan Antonio Garcia Perez from Spain. The ‘Digiscoper of the Year 2009’ will receive a complete digiscoping kit containing a telescope with an eyepiece and a camera adapter from SWAROVSKI OPTIK. Mr Juan Antonio Garcia Perez competed against 320 participants from 51 countries to win first place ahead of Mr Andreas Bossi from Italy, who won a pair of EL 42 binoculars. In third place, Mr Manuel Estébanez Ruiz from Spain won a pair of pocket binoculars.
