SWAROVSKI OPTIK’S NEW GLOBAL ONLINE PRESENCE

Absam / Tyrol, March 2009: A new look for Swarovski Optik on the Internet in time for its 60th anniversary. The entire Internet presence has been redesigned in line with the new corporate identity and expanded into an innovative service, information and dialogue platform for users and now, for the first time, for the retail trade too.

Since the company was founded some 60 years ago, Swarovski Optik has committed itself to the development and production of long-range sports optics of the highest precision and optical luminosity.

Johannes Davoras, who is responsible for this project in his capacity as Director of Marketing and Communication, says “We wanted to design an Internet presence where the quality of our company’s information matches that of our products. The aim was to establish a brand-compliant presence in a user-friendly, clear structure with a high level of information about our products. We have developed our Internet presence into a dialogue platform so that we can make our contact with our customers, retail and media partners even more active and tell them about our company’s innovations. In Avenit AG, Offenburg, we have found a competent partner that has enabled us to implement the project in the shortest possible time.”

By designing individual user worlds, the new website will offer enthusiastic hunters as well as nature observers and birdwatchers, and those people wishing to make their travel and leisure activities unforgettable by viewing them through high-quality optics, the opportunity to find out about the products in the range tailored to specific uses and their characteristics. The Internet presence will also be enhanced by its up-to-date design, user-friendly navigation and numerous 3-dimensional animations of specific Swarovski Optik products which vividly illustrate unique technical refinements. The newly designed online product advisor will offer a special service. Here appropriate products and accessories will be recommended to the user depending on the use selected and individual requirements. There will also be opportunities to register for the company’s dedicated newsletter service and to register any products purchased, in addition to extensive contact navigation to retail partners and the company’s service department. In addition to all this, there will also be a dedicated press area where media partners can find out about innovations and corporate development based on current press releases and where they will also be able to download press photos. Last but not least there will also be an opportunity to submit online job applications.

The New Swarovski Optik Retailer Platform
For the first time, Swarovski Optik’s new website will now be dedicated not only to its end customers but from June 2009 will also provide retail partners with an extensive service portal. The core element of this platform will be the online ordering system which enables retailers from direct sales countries to order goods around the clock. Furthermore, comprehensive features for sales support and promotion, such as decorative elements, and later online product training courses, downloads of product and spare parts catalogues, price lists and documentation regarding the partnership concept will also be provided for retail partners. Retail partners will be able to look up their current order status and their sales volume in addition to contacting Swarovski Optik.

Worldwide Newsletter Service
Starting in April 2009, Swarovski Optik will publish newsletters for both end customers and retail partners, telling them about innovations, corporate development and the company’s commitment in the areas of species protection and nature conservation. On registering for the newsletter, the interested visitor will be able to specify areas of interest and will subsequently receive clearly laid out information tailored with these in mind at appropriate event-related intervals. Subscribers to the newsletter will thus make sure they have a head start in the information stakes and that they are permanently bang up-to-date regarding developments in long-range optics.
